Who we are
Our community, which was built for women entrepreneurs, began as the Women’s Business Assistance Center (WBAC) in 1993, and it is one of the first business center programs nationwide. Since then, we’ve been contracted with the US Small Business Administration’s Office of Women’s Business Ownership. We evolved over the years to become the Women’s Business Alliance in 2014.
In 2025, we remain a nonprofit corporation helping small businesses led by women become and remain competitive in the local and global markets.
Our mission and values
Our mission is to empower women by helping them start and expand their small businesses.
Our values include connection, leadership, and mutual support. We connect aspiring business women with mentors who provide guidance, advice, and formal training across various domains critical to running a business, including accounting, finance, marketing, etc. As our members develop their enterprises, they, in turn, become mentors and leaders. This unbreakable circle of mutual support ensures every community member has access to the resources, materials, and connections necessary to start, run, and grow their businesses.
What we offer
The scope of the Women’s Business Alliance resources and activities covers:
- Resources and tools to launch and scale your business. We provide informational support for aspiring entrepreneurs and new business owners.
- Networking and mentorship opportunities. Members can mingle, exchange ideas, find mentors and mentees to share and learn more about running a small business.
- Educational programs and expert events. Our educational catalog includes several practical courses, tutorials, and master classes from business experts across various industries and niches.
- International dating. We also help our members connect with foreign partners through international dating. With our support, anyone can find a life partner among mail order brides.
While some of these resources and events are open to the public, other perks are exclusive to the WBA members.
